snow boots

As the winter storms roll in, you’d better have a pair of snow boots ready to slush around in!
NYC is expecting up to 14” of snow tonight, and while I’m sad to see my leather and pumps head for the closet, I’m excited to pull out my blizzard boots!

puffer coats

While stores are starting to bring in spring clothing, the rest of us are trying to brave the coldest months of the year. Puffer coats are a sure way to keep the winds from chilling us to the bone. I admit, I was resistant at first, but lucky for all of us, many brands are ditching the sleeping bag look and creating sleeker, figure-flattering down coats, helping us stay stylish and warm.

Take these examples, the cinching at the waist helps you avoid being mistaken for the Marshmallow (Wo)man and thus a comeback of Ghostbusters.

new year, new style

Many memorable and interesting looks emerged in 2010. There are some that we’d like to carry over into the new year and some that we’d like to keep in the past.
(Do skulls, studs, and cross bones ring a bell?)

Have a look here at some of the more forgettable looks!

Surely you remember those snowmen-adorned sweaters your mom made you wear to every Christmas party when you were eight. Pretty scarring, right?

Well, have a look below at a beautifully modern spin on those unforgettable Christmas sweaters.
(One Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater, please!)

skinny ties

In the last few years, men’s ties have gotten thinner. And let me tell you, I love a
skinny tie with a spread collar. It’s so European!

If you need a conservative look in the office but want to sport the thin trend, choose
classic colors and patterns or don’t go ultra, string-bean thin.

Also, a thin tie looks ever so stylish with a collared shirt and a cardigan or shawl-
neck sweater.

eye appeal

Looking fabulous for you holiday parties doesn’t stop with a great blouse. Amp up your look with sexy smoky eyes. And we’re not talking the harsh black smoky eyes you attempted in high school.
Instead opt for this modern and user-friendly version.

Here’s how to get the look.

sheer beauty

Theory, $200

TopShop, $100

Anthropologie, $128

Sanctuary, $130

Adding sheer fabrics to tops and skirts is hot right now. It is a great way to give some sizzle to an otherwise-conservative outfit or to add winter whimsy to your wardrobe.

posh polish

As you glitz out your outfits this season be sure you don’t forget your nails. Shimmery graphite is the newest polish trend sweeping across fingernails this season. While it’s a very minimalist look, it gives just enough opulence and edge for any occasion.

Here are a few of my favorite colors:
Nars Full Metal Jacket
Chanel Steel
YSL White Gold #141
OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous
