couture beauty

As the S/S Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris is coming to a close, I look back and have been widely impressed with the many memorable collections presented. From chic to rocker and 50s to futuristic, the below gowns and ensembles have especially caught my eye.

men's fashion week

Men’s Fashion Week in Milan is in full swing as some of fashions biggest names take their collections to the runway. Like much of the menswear hitting the runway this week, D&G kept to a very casual and relaxed feel as the retro-looking models donned classic cartoons and Coca-Cola slogans. For the everyday man, this collection is so swank and so wearable.

golden globes glamour

Emerald green, long-sleeve gowns, and shades of pink were among the trends we saw at the Golden Globes on Sunday. While some say host Ricky Gervais was overly offensive, we think the same could be said about some of the stars’ ensembles. On the other hand, there were many jaw-dropping looks that made us swoon.

snow boots

As the winter storms roll in, you’d better have a pair of snow boots ready to slush around in!
NYC is expecting up to 14” of snow tonight, and while I’m sad to see my leather and pumps head for the closet, I’m excited to pull out my blizzard boots!

puffer coats

While stores are starting to bring in spring clothing, the rest of us are trying to brave the coldest months of the year. Puffer coats are a sure way to keep the winds from chilling us to the bone. I admit, I was resistant at first, but lucky for all of us, many brands are ditching the sleeping bag look and creating sleeker, figure-flattering down coats, helping us stay stylish and warm.

Take these examples, the cinching at the waist helps you avoid being mistaken for the Marshmallow (Wo)man and thus a comeback of Ghostbusters.

Burberry Brit, $495

Sanctuary, $210

new year, new style

Many memorable and interesting looks emerged in 2010. There are some that we’d like to carry over into the new year and some that we’d like to keep in the past.
(Do skulls, studs, and cross bones ring a bell?)

Have a look here at some of the more forgettable looks!
